Today is the warmest day of the week

Rain and thunderstorms expected early next week

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- A high pressure system across the western states will lead to well above normal temperatures into the weekend with high temperatures in the lower to middle 80's across the lower deserts on Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a weak weather system will bring light rain chances on Sunday, but mainly areas east and southeast of Phoenix.

The weak system will bring cooling with Sunday highs falling back into the mid 70s over warmer low deserts.

Temperatures into next week look to remain at or above normal readings with much better chances for widespread rain by the early to middle part of next week.
