BONNIE TYLER’S MISSION TO END HOMELESSNESS

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Award-winning singer Bonnie Tyler continues to make her mark in the world as she continues to aid in the fight against homelessness.

Tyler’s new song ONE WORLD ONE HOME was released on April 24, as the world-renowned singer was undergoing diagnostic testing for a health scare that later resulted in an emergency surgery and induced coma.

In her latest undertaking, Tyler gives proof of her ongoing activism and public awareness campaigning, which she has embraced throughout her career with the noble intention of sparking social change.

The song ONE WORLD ONE HOME is featured in Valerio Zanoli’s documentary HOMELESS, and it is performed in collaboration with the Dallas Street Choir. The film was released by Buffalo 8 with National Coalition for the Homeless, and is available on Amazon, Hoopla, and Plex.

Both the documentary and the song are a call to action, as they aim to raise awareness and funds for the fight to end homelessness. More specifically: The documentary HOMELESS humanizes people experiencing homelessness by giving them a platform to share their stories, dreams, and struggles, while challenging long-held stereotypes and reframing homelessness as a humanitarian emergency that demands compassion, urgency, and collective solutions; the song ONE WORLD ONE HOME reflects the documentary’s core message of unity, dignity, and shared humanity, through lyrics written by the film’s director Valerio Zanoli and a theme created by the film’s music composer Valentino Favotto.

All profits from the distribution of both the film and the song will be used to help secure affordable housing for underprivileged families. Homelessness is a global crisis that cannot be ignored, because it affects more than 100 million people worldwide and over 700,000 individuals in the United States on any given night.

Zanoli commented: “It was a true pleasure not only to work with a legend like Bonnie Tyler, but also to share a special and very important goal with her. My documentary HOMELESS is about restoring dignity and visibility to people who are too often ignored. There is no Us or Them: There’s only We. And, if we allow ourselves to truly see one another, change becomes possible. HOMELESS invites viewers around the world to bear witness, start conversations, and become part of the solution.”

For Tyler, the issue is deeply personal rather than a distant social concern. Reflecting on her life and career, she shared how grateful she is for the strong support system around her, a perspective that has strengthened her empathy for people experiencing housing insecurity.

“I truly feel blessed to have such a wonderful family and so many amazing friends,” Tyler says. “Their love and support mean the world to me, and I treasure every moment I get to share with them. One thing I hope I never have to face is loneliness…and even more so, homelessness.”

After decades of touring and performing worldwide, Tyler says she has seen both the richness of diverse cultures and the increasing struggles faced by vulnerable communities.

“Through my travels, I’ve had the privilege of performing around the world, meeting incredible people from every walk of life, and visiting some of the most beautiful cities on earth, the singer says. “Yet alongside all that beauty, I’ve also seen a growing number of people without a home. Many of them once had families, careers, and stability, but life took an unexpected turn.”

Tyler’s reflections reinforce the film’s central message that homelessness is often driven by circumstances beyond a person’s control, and that we should all have compassion for the most underprivileged members of our society.

“It’s heartbreaking to witness, but it also reminds me how fragile life can be, and how important compassion is,” Tyler says. “The gap between those who have so much and those who have so little feels wider than ever. Too often, the most vulnerable among us are spoken of as problems to be hidden rather than people to be helped,” Tyler adds.

The music video for the song ONE WORLD ONE HOME was created with scenes from the film HOMELESS, and it has already received very positive feedback from Tyler’s fans. At the same time, the documentary has been widely acclaimed by homelessness organizations, journalists, and global institutions. HOMELESS premiered at the World Urban Forum, convened by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and it has since been described as “impactful, emotional, human” by the National Coalition for the Homeless and “a very powerful documentary” by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.

The documentary is available to watch at www.homelessdocumentary.com, and the music video is now streaming on YouTube.

The song ONE WORLD ONE HOME was produced by Valerio Zanoli, Valentino Favotto, Simone Sello, and Tyler’s lifelong collaborator David Mackay. It was mixed and mastered by Luca Pretolsi at Studio DMI.
