CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Eyewitness captures explosions in Iran after U.S. defensive strikes

IRAN (CBS, KYMA) - Eyewitness footage released on Tuesday showed bright flashes of light preceding loud explosions behind buildings on Iran's Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Date of the footage is not verified, however a U.S. official said on Monday the U.S. carried out strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian state media outlet IRNA reported that there were several explosions on Qeshm Island in a statement posted on Telegram just after midnight on Tuesday. No old versions of the footage was found posted online before November 3.

The strikes, appeared to be limited and were not a resumption of major combat operations, a U.S. official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
