CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man climbs into tiger enclosure at the Saint Louis Zoo

ST. LOUIS (NBC, KYMA) - A man was taken into custody Saturday after climbing over a fence and onto a barrier above the Big Cat Habitat at the St. Louis Zoo.

St. Louis resident and animal lover Isabella Miljkovic was shocked when she was shown the video.

"Those cats, they can become like very territorial, very aggressive pretty quickly too," said Miljkovic.

Zoo officials say the man climbed over a fence and onto a barrier wall just above the Big Cat Country habitat.

He sat there for a few minutes, thankfully not coming into contact with any animals.

St. Louis Zoo officials sent a statement saying, "We are investigating this incident to determine what modifications might need to be made so that similar situations don't happen in the future."

The man was unharmed and quickly taken into custody by zoo security.
