Vikings hang on to eliminate Lancers

The Holtville girls basketball team advances to the CIF SDS Division quarterfinals with a 49-46 win over Francis Parker

HOLTVILLE, Calif. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - The Holtville Vikings girls basketball team held off a late charge by Francis Parker to advance to the CIF San Diego Section Division II quarterfinals. The Vikings went into halftime up 24-8 and led 39-20 after three quarters of play. The Lancers outscored the Vikings 26 - 10 in the 4th quarter but it would be too little too late. Holtville hangs on and now will face top seeded Academy of Our Lady of Peace on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
