Patient released in time for Mother’s Day surprise

GEORGETOWN, TX (KYMA, KECY) - A mother was reunited with her family after being in the hospital since March 23rd due to coronavirus (COVID-19).

After spending 10 days on a ventilator, her son flew-in from California to surprise her at the hospital — just in time for Mother's day.

The mother is a retired teacher, and NBC video shows as both hospital staff and family applaud her recovery.

The hospital released her from care today, and she was later surprised by her family at the exit, complete with streamers and banners.
