Survivors share their stories

AUSCHWITZ, POLAND (KYMA, KECY) - Today International Holocaust Remembrance Day, falling on the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Video shows survivors of the brutal concentration returning, some for the first time.

Some even brought pictures of the day Auschwitz was liberated, on January 27, 1945.

“I remember the place where they were shooting the people at the wall. I remember the hangings. I remember the horror, " Said David Lenga from California.

"I remember the smoke from the chimney coming out of the crematorium. I remember everything!"

Many of those choosing to return hadn't been there since childhood and adolescence.

Many are the sole survivors of their entire families, bearing witness to what humanity is capable of.
