Officer bodycam captures dramatic pig-chase

MAGNA, Ut. (KYMA, KECY) - A quick-thinking pig led Utah police on an intense hoof chase.

Officer bodycam shows as the officers were — in their own words — outsmarted and outrun.

As soon as officers thought they had their hands on the pig, it managed to slip away and take off running again.

"He quickly out smarted us and every time the rope leash would get anywhere near his head, he'd go squealing off, running away from us, " said Officer Kyler Roush with the Greater Salt Lake Police Department.

Officers even tried to catch the cunning pig with a lasso to no avail.

Finally an officer sneaked up behind the runaway pig, grabbing it on the leg, effectively ending the chase.

It was then transferred to Animal Control, took-in the pig for the night so it wouldn't be turned into "road bacon."
