Flooded roads and fast moving water causing problems for residents of Washington

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. (NBC, KYMA) - Heavy rainfall caused fast-moving water to flood roads in parts of Pennsylvania's Washington and Allegheny Counties Saturday evening.

Water from the streets run watershed forced police to shutdown roadways.

There were also reports of gushing manholes and vehicles becoming stalled in the high water.

Neighbors say flooding has repeatedly affected the area this summer and believe it is due to clogged drains.

Saturday's downpour prompted the city of Washington to declare a state of emergency that is in effect for the next five days.
