Police in Massachusetts actively searching for a woman in connection with the death of an off duty police officer

WORCESTER, Mass. (NBC, KYMA) - Police in Worcester, Massachusetts, are actively searching for a 58-year-old woman in connection with the death of an off-duty police officer, and investigators say they are considering her armed and dangerous.

Karen Solomon is described as having dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing pajama shorts and a tank top, walking towards Westcott street.

Worcester police said on Tuesday afternoon that the deceased man was an off duty Worcester police officer.

He was later identified as Kurt Solomon and was found after investigators were called to a home around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators describing the situation as a domestic incident.

Officials would not confirm any relationship between Solomon and the victim, who was described as a 30-year veteran of the force.

A large number of police and other first responders were seen at the home on Tuesday morning amid the investigation.

Local and state agencies are involved in the active search.

Police shared a photo of Solomon to their Facebook page and said anyone who sees her should call 911 or the Worcester Police Department.
