Fans of Welsh pop singer Bonnie Tyler gather in her native Swansea for her funeral

SWANSEA, Wales (NBC , KYMA) - Fans of Welsh pop singer Bonnie Tyler gathered in her native Swansea for her funeral Monday.

Tyler's coffin was brought into the church to the tune of two of her most famous hits if "I sing you a love song" and "It's a heartache."

Church Minister Reverend Canon Justin Davies conducted the funeral service.

Famed for 1980s power ballads such as "Total eclipse of the heart" and "Holding out for a hero", Tyler died at the age of 75 on July 8.

She underwent emergency intestinal surgery in may while in Faro, Southern Portugal, where she had a home.

Tyler was born Gaynor Hopkins in south Wales in 1951 and came to prominence in 1977.
