Fireworks clean up begins in D.C.

WASHINGTON (NBC, KYMA) - The Independence Day celebrations may be over, but the cleanup is just getting started in the nation's capitol.

Hours after fireworks lit up the night sky over Washington, D.C., cleanup crews moved onto the national mall to begin clearing the massive celebration.

Workers were seen dismantling stages, hauling away trash, and removing debris left behind by one of the nation's largest Fourth of July events.

The celebration featured military flyovers, live entertainment, and a fireworks show.
