Proceeds to benefit El Centro Swim Scholarships, additional activities

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Kiwanis Club of El Centro is preparing to raise funds at one of the city's newest attractions, the El Centro Aquatic Center, with an inaugural Ken-ducky Derby to be held Friday evening, June 18, at 7.

As a collaborative effort with the City of El Centro, anticipated proceeds are meant to specifically go toward El Centro Swim Scholarships. Funds will also benefit other projects helping Children of El Centro.

Cash prizes for the top three finishers include:

  • First Place - $600
  • Second Place - $300
  • Third Place - $100

Participants may "adopt" a pony for only $20, or six ponies for $100. Please contact any El Centro Kiwanis member or call (760) 791-2213 to start your adoption process.

Due to Health Department Restrictions, a limited amount of spectators is allowed. Attendants are asked to wear derby hats in honor of the occasion.
