Del Pueblo RV Resort in Yuma continues to support child burn survivors

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A Yuma RV Resort continues to assist local kids in overcoming the difficulties of burn injuries.

The Del Pueblo RV Resort's Annual Child Burn Survivors Fundraiser took place on Friday.

Lunch tickets, benefit raffles, and handmade quilt sales were all part of the charity event.

These funds support a campaign run by local firefighters to help children and their families with transportation to Phoenix, post-operative care, home services, and more.

Vickie Schloss, the event's organizer, shares, "Unfortunately, Yuma does not have a burn center and a lot of the firefighters will take the children up there to their appointments and their families. They'll go to the school and talk to the students before the child comes back so they know what to expect a little bit. It's just a beautiful organization."

Marg Rommele was also honored at the event, the woman who started the annual fundraiser seven years ago and passed away last year.
