Animals at the Nashville Zoo get into the holiday spirit

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CBS, KYMA) - Spunky meerkats, playful clouded leopards, curious Mexican spider monkeys, and more were treated to gift-wrapped enrichment at the Nashville Zoo in Tennessee, recently released video shows.

Footage captured by the Nashville Zoo shows various animals tearing into, clawing at, pouncing on, and nibbling at holiday-themed enrichment.

"Meer-ry Christmas Eve...PSA: The Zoo will be closed tomorrow, Dec. 25, during regular hours and will open at 5 pm for Zoolumination presented by Stella Artois," the zoo said in the post.

According to the zoo, keepers spend time studying the animals they care for to give them the best life possible, which includes "preserving, encouraging, and challenging their natural animal instincts through enrichment programs."
