Imperial Valley prepares for Juneteenth celebration

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial Valley Social Justice Committee invites the community to its Juneteenth celebration.

The event is free and everyone is welcome to come out and get a glance at African American history, culture, and contributions.

There will be live performances, music, games, face painting, speakers, and a taste of traditional Soul food.

The Imperial Valley Social Justice Committee said the first 100 children will be able to receive goodie bags, face painting, and games.

The event will be at the El Centro Community Center located at 375 South First Street.
