NC woman wins National Gingerbread House Competition

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (NBC) - A North Carolina woman has taken home the top prize at this year's National Gingerbread House Competition.

Ann Bailey won the big check for her gingerbread house that she entitled: "When Dreams Have Wings."

Furthermore, the judging occurred this week at the omni grove park in, in Asheville, North Carolina.

Bakers from all over the world spent months creating these delicious works of art.

Each confectionary creation had to be 100% edible, and at least 75% gingerbread.

All of the works will be on display at the hotel through January 2nd, and Ann Bailey gets to return home with a big check for $7,500 and title of worlds best gingerbread house baker.
