De-vil live show to perform in Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - On April 9 and 10, the Dancers Workshop will perform a live show based off Disney's Cruella.

The show will be presented by Jams Dance Company and Dazzlers Aerobatics, and will consist of different dance styles like tap, jazz and ballet combined with acting.

The performers are currently hard at work rehearsing for the two-date performances this April.

"We like to do a new show every season. We don't like to repeat, and make the dancers and gymnasts really challenge themselves for new storylines, and when we watched Cruella, we were like, 'Wow!' The music's great, pertains to all genres," said Myriah Farrar, owner of the Dancers Workshop and one of the directors in charge of the show.

Of course, since this is based off a Disney movie, Farrar, along with the other presenters, bounced through hurdles to make the character and storyline their own.

"We just have to buy certain aspects for it, which we did, but we're not doing the super storyline. We trimmed it up and made it our own kind of storyline," according to Farrar.

Once they jumped the Disney hurdle, the presenters began auditioning for the main and supporting roles.

"I did have to audition for it, and when I heard it was based off Cruella de Vil, I was kind of excited because it's a really great movie, and I really like it," said Hayden Foppe who is portraying Lil Estella, the one character destined to become Cruella de Vil.

Should the show become a success, the company hopes to do more live performances based off classic and modern Disney villains.

Tickets are on sale for $10 and will be available to purchase at the Gila Ridge auditorium ticket booth for the April 9 showing at 6 pm and the April 10 showing at 1 pm.
