The Honey Pot Farmhouse hosting farmers market to help small local businesses

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - The Honey Pot Farmhouse hosts a farmers market every Friday in the Foothills bringing lots of locals together as a way to help support small local businesses.

Think, shop and buy local. It's the motto of this farmer's market.

The Honey Pot’s owner, Jasmine Ramos started her own local farmer's market as a way to support the community.

“It’s an amazing opportunity for me to really get my stuff noticed and my shop noticed and it’s something, I just reopened and I love connecting with the community, I love people coming and seeing my things and sharing stories even,” said vintage shop owner Kristal Medina. 

And locals are loving it.

“They would love to go garage sales, yard sales and any kind of sales because I do too,” said local jewelry maker Kari Caudle. 

Vendors also enjoy selling their special handcrafted items. 

“It makes me feel happy, I’m excited I hope it gets bigger and better, I like the hours I like the day so normally you don’t have to compete with too many other sales and everything so I’m excited,” said Caudle.

Ramos also has her own shop called The Honey Pot where she sells unique handmade, homemade and homegrown local items. 

The Honey Pot holds small business Saturdays in the store giving more opportunities for locals to sell their own products. 

“It makes me so happy knowing that so many people supporting me, you know loving my treats because this is what I like to do, so I’m really happy they really enjoy them,” said local baker Italia Alonso. 

The goal is to bring fun to the community and help other businesses grow.

“For me small businesses are important and it what builds the community and unites us and I just love seeing the support that we each have for one and another and each other’s business, I think that’s very valuable,” Medina.

The Honey Pot will continue to hold a farmers market every Friday until April. It will start at 10 a.m and go until 2 p.m.

IT will be at 11242 S. Foothills Boulevard In the parking lot in front of The Honey Pot.
