CBS 13 SPORTS: Imperial Basketball season ends; Yuma area baseball update

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - It was the end of a historic run for Imperial girls basketball, as the Tigers saw their season come to a close with a 58-45 loss to King/Drew in the CIF State Tournament.

Imperial finishes the year with 23 wins after advancing to the CIF Division One championship game and earning a spot on the state stage, one of the most memorable seasons in program history.

On the baseball diamond, several local teams delivered strong performances.

Vincent Memorial dominated Calipatria 10-0 in Imperial Valley action, while Sunnyslope defeated Gila Ridge 6-2 despite a competitive effort from the Hawks.

Yuma Catholic also earned a solid 7-2 win over Seton Catholic, continuing to build momentum early in the season.

A mix of postseason heartbreak on the hardwood and promising spring success on the diamond made for a busy stretch in local sports.
