Arizona Western women's soccer falls in penalty kicks in national championship

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - After going 6-4 in the regular season and dominating in the first two rounds of the playoffs, the Palo Verde Yellow Jackets fell in the CIF San Diego 5AA Sectional Championship to Maranatha City 24-12.

The Arizona Western Matadors found themselves in the national championship game again, but following a scoreless 110 minutes, they fell to Daytona State 5-4 in penalties.

The Matadors finish the season with a 17-1-1 record.
