NBC 11 Sports: Bruins win first Women’s NCAA National Championship in program history

Gabriela Jaquez lifted UCLA to their first NCAA championship backed by a 21-point performance

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The UCLA Bruins defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 79-51 Sunday afternoon to secure their first NCAA Championship in school history.

Sam Kirk and myself were able to catch up with Bruin's Athletic Director Martin Jarmond and Graduate Forward Angela Dugalić.

Former Arizona Western Matador Yaxel Lendeborg and the Michigan Wolverines beat the UConn Huskies 69-63 on Monday night to secure their first championship in 37 years.

The Phoenix Suns have four more games left in their schedule this season, but regardless of what happens, it's likely they stay put in the play-in games.

And the San Diego Padres beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-0 on Monday night to get back to .500 on the season.
