NBC 11 Sports: Kofa defends Kingdom, sets up rematch with San Luis

Playoff action continued in the Desert Southwest, and many of the games delivered

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Kofa Kings beat the Tucson Badgers 3-1 at Irv Pallack Field on Wednesday night in the second round of the 6A State Championship Bracket.

The San Luis Sidewinders beat the Tolleson Union Wolverines in a 2-1 nail biter at the Snake Pit on Wednesday in the 6A Bracket as well. The Sidewinders and Kings will face off for the fourth time this season on Saturday with a trip to the state semifinals on the line.

Down in the 3A State Bracket, the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks beat the Benjamin Franklin Chargers 5-1 to advance to the Championship where a rematch with Gilbert Christian awaits.

Team U.S.A. added another gold medal to their Olympic haul.
