Playoff action continued in the desert southwest

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Central Soccer defeated Mira Mesa 1-0 to advance to the first round of the CIF-SDS Division II bracket as a 16 seed.

In other playoff news, Holtville would defeat the Health Sciences Serpents 69-35 to advance to the Division V basketball bracket as a 12 seed.

Also on the court, San Pasqual girls lost to the Joseph City Wildcats 58-15 on Monday night.

Zac Gallen signed a one-year deal with the Diamondbacks to remain in Arizona, claiming he's betting on himself to have a better year in 2026.

The United States sits in third in the most recent Olympic Medal Count.
