Arizona Western stays hot with a massive performance, Arizona State football upsets Texas Tech
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Yuma High School inducted new members to its Hall of Fame Saturday at the school's 14th Induction Ceremony: football head coaches Al Alvarez (1965-74) and Tom Hurt (1988-1992), swim and dive head coach DeeDee Baumgarner (1985-2010), three-sport athlete Yolanda Biebrich (YHS Class of 1982), football and track athlete Jerry Gaillard (Class of 1978) and the YHS 1941-42 girls tennis team, which was the Arizona Championship Team.
The Arizona Western Lady Matadors picked up another blowout win against the College of Southern Nevada Coyotes by a score of 7-0. They have not relented a goal since September 20. Goal scorers included Reina Kasano (2), Ariana Peraza, Reika Yuba, Kanon Ozaki, Ga-eon Ryu and Asa Yamazaki.
The Arizona State Sun Devils topped the #7 Texas Tech Red Raiders Saturday 26-22. Sam Leavitt returned from a foot injury after missing the team's previous matchup against Utah and performed in a big way. He slung the ball around for 319 yards and one touchdown.
Jordyn Tyson furthered his case for the Fred Biletnikoff award, finishing with 10 receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown.
