NBC 11 Sports: End of the year spring sports honors flood across state lines into the Imperial Valley

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - After wrapping up region awards on the diamond and the tennis courts for local Yuma schools, it shifts over to the Imperial Valley where All-League names recently came out.

In Imperial Valley League baseball, the wealth was spread across all four teams in a league that wasn't decided until the final games, ending in a co-championship between Brawley and Southwest. Brawley's Tanner Carranza took home the league Player of the Year award, with Southwest's Chance Bermudez earning the IVL Pitcher of the Year.

Plus, Calexico's head coach Ricky Guzman won the Coach of the Year after helping the Bulldogs to a Division IV CIF title.

Over to the Desert League, it was a one way finish to the top for Holtville - who landed four 1st Teamers, including the Player of the Year, Raul Sierra, and the Coach of the Year, Jon Ayon. Closely beind, the Central Spartans added several top honors including Nico Viesca earning the Pitcher of the Year award after a stellar sophomore season.
