NBC 11 Sports: Putting the work in

Yuma Catholic holds its annual 7 on 7 passing event with local schools getting in a little summer work

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - During the last week of June, Yuma Catholic holds its annual 7 on 7 passing event to help prepare for the upcoming prep football season.

"Coaches are involved," Yuma Catholic head coach Rhett Stallworth said. "We're calling plays, we're running, you know, you shouldn't be running your system. And then you've got four downs to get 20 yards and then four to score. And it's all on a clock tells you you got 3.8 seconds to throw the football and otherwise it's a sack. Just things like that. Just gives kids an opportunity to get in work that normally they wouldn't get in."

Cibola, Yuma High School, Central, Imperial, Calexico and Vincent Memorial also joined the Shamrocks for the two day event which took place this past Tuesday and Wednesday.
