Cardinals to retire Larry Fitzgerald’s No. 11, induct him into Ring of Honor

The Arizona legend will be remembered in Cardinal's history forever

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA) - Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald is adding another honor to his already historic career.

Fresh off his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Fitzgerald will have his No. 11 jersey retired by the Cardinals and will be inducted into the franchise’s Ring of Honor during halftime of the team’s Oct. 25 game against the Denver Broncos at State Farm Stadium.

Fitzgerald becomes just the sixth player in Cardinals history to have his number retired. He will also become the 20th member of the team’s Ring of Honor.

The former wide receiver spent all 17 seasons of his NFL career with Arizona after the Cardinals selected him with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft.

Fitzgerald finished his career with 1,432 receptions for 17,492 yards, ranking second in NFL history in both categories. He also recorded 121 receiving touchdowns and was selected to 11 Pro Bowls.

His No. 11 will officially join the franchise’s retired numbers during a ceremony that comes after Fitzgerald was enshrined in Canton, Ohio, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest players in Cardinals history.
