Cardinals rework contract with Jacoby Brissett

GLENDALE, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Arizona Cardinals have secured their starting quarterback for the 2026 season, reaching a reworked one-year contract agreement with veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

The new deal will pay Brissett $15.5 million for the upcoming season, with performance incentives that could increase the total value to $21 million.

Brissett had been seeking a pay raise throughout the offseason and skipped most of the team's offseason program while waiting for a new agreement. The Cardinals ultimately adjusted his contract, but no additional years were added, meaning Brissett is still scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2026 season.

The 33-year-old became the team's projected starter after Arizona released Kyler Murray in March. Brissett originally signed a two-year, $12.5 million contract with the Cardinals in 2025 and was set to make roughly $4.9 million in base salary this season.

During the 2025 campaign, Brissett started the final 12 games for Arizona, throwing for 3,366 yards and 23 touchdowns while completing 64.9 percent of his passes. However, the Cardinals won just one game with Brissett as their starting quarterback.

Now, Arizona is counting on the veteran signal caller to lead the offense in 2026 while continuing to develop the next phase of the franchise.
