Maxx Crosby shipped to Ravens for two first-round picks
Baltimore adds to a loaded defense while Las Vegas turns their attention to the future
LAS VEGAS (KYMA) - The Las Vegas Raiders made one of the biggest moves of the NFL offseason, agreeing to trade star defensive end Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for the Ravens' first-round picks in the 2026 and 2027 drafts.
Crosby, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, had been the subject of trade speculation for months following a frustrating end to the season in Las Vegas.
The 28-year-old defender was placed on injured reserve late in the year, a move that reportedly added to tensions as the franchise began transitioning toward a rebuild.
Despite missing time, Crosby remained one of the league's most productive defensive players last season. He finished the year with 73 tackles, including 28 for loss, and recorded 10 sacks while continuing to anchor the Raiders’ defensive front.
The deal comes as Las Vegas reshapes its roster under new head coach Klint Kubiak. With the trade, the Raiders now add significant future draft capital to a team already positioned with the No. 1 overall pick and the No. 14 selection in this year's draft.
For Baltimore, the move signals an aggressive push to strengthen its pass rush. The Ravens rarely part with first-round draft capital in trades, and the acquisition marks the first time in the franchise's 31-year history that the organization has used a first-round pick to acquire an established player via trade.
Crosby now joins a Ravens defense that has consistently ranked among the NFL's most physical and productive units, giving Baltimore another elite presence along its defensive line.
In other Las Vegas news, the Raiders are also expected to move on from veteran quarterback Geno Smith.
The team plans to release Smith just one year into his two-year contract unless a trade partner emerges before the start of the new league year next week.
The pair of moves signals a significant shift in direction for the Raiders as the franchise looks toward the future.
