Diamondbacks set MLB record for longest road losing streak

Thursday's 10-3 loss in San Francisco marks 23 straight away from Chase Field

SAN FRANCISCO, Cailf. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - The Arizona Diamondbacks entered Thursday's afternoon baseball game with the San Francisco Giants, tied with the 1943 Philadelphia Athletics and the 1963 New York Mets, tied for the MLB record of 22 consecutive road losses. The last time the Diamondbacks won a road game came back on April 25th in Atlanta. That was the day starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner threw an unofficial no-hitter. Unofficial because the game only lasted seven innings as part of a doubleheader.

On Thursday, the Diamondbacks claimed the record for all their own, falling to San Francisco 10-3. The loss also extended the Diamondbacks current losing streak to 14 games. On Friday Arizona opens a three game home series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
