Indy 500 honors Kyle Busch as Rosenqvist wins in historic finish

INDIANAPOLIS (KYMA) - Drivers at the Indianapolis 500 paid tribute Sunday to NASCAR legend Kyle Busch following his death at the age of 41.

Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, died last Thursday after pneumonia progressed into sepsis.

Before the race, IndyCar drivers honored Busch by placing stickers of the iconic No. 8 on their cars, the number most associated with his racing career.

The emotional tribute came during one of the most dramatic finishes in IndyCar history.

Felix Rosenqvist captured the Borg-Warner Trophy after making a last-second pass on David Malukas in the final turn of the race. The move secured what officials called the closest finish in IndyCar history.

The thrilling ending capped off a memorable day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, combining a celebration of racing excellence with a tribute to one of motorsports' most recognizable stars.
