NFL invests into professional flag football league

The National Football League has talked about backing a professional flag football league, and that dream has gotten one step closer to becoming a reality

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - During a virtual league meeting on Wednesday, December 10, National Football League clubs voted to financially support the development and launch of a professional men’s and women’s flag league, investing up to $32 million.

Despite having 20 million players worldwide, senior NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent said that "Today's vote represents a critical step in establishing flag football as a premier global sport."

Ideally, the league would complement the flag football Olympic momentum by creating a clear path for the top women and men athletes from around the world to compete at the highest level.
