Yuma 17U Grab and Go Flag Football crowns champions

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The 17U Grab and Go Flag Football League in Yuma held its championship game today, with the Chargers and Vikings battling for the title. The Vikings, previously a 14U team, had moved up to the 17U division this season after dominating their age group for the last four years.

After a strong season, the Vikings were hoping to prove they could compete with older teams and finish their first 17-U run with a championship.

Head coach Ken Nelson said, “It's awesome. This is what we work for. This is our fifth title game in a row, so my team’s been battling for quite a few seasons. We've been doing something special here, so we're hoping to continue our legacy and take this one home.”

The Vikings did exactly that, pulling out a win to secure their fourth straight championship - and their first in the 17U division.
