Raiders flag football makes history with first-ever state playoff berth

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Cibola Lady Raiders are making history in their inaugural girls flag football season, earning a spot in the Arizona 6A State Playoffs.

Cibola secured the No. 14 seed, marking a major milestone for the first-year program and its players.

The accomplishment is even more impressive considering several members of the team had never played football before this season.

Now, the Lady Raiders will look to continue their historic run as they prepare for a first-round matchup against No. 3 seed Boulder Creek.

Cibola will hit the road Tuesday at 6 p.m. with a chance to advance and keep its inaugural season alive.

Regardless of the outcome, the Lady Raiders have already established a milestone for the future of the program.
