Antelope extends rivalry dominance over San Pasqual in Telegraph Pass Cup

WINTERHAVEN, Calif. (KYMA) — The San Pasqual Warriors entered Thursday night looking to make history against the Antelope Rams, but the rivalry drought continued as Antelope maintained its winning streak dating back to 2003.

The Warriors welcomed the Rams to Warrior Field with the Telegraph Pass Cup on the line, hoping to secure their first victory over Antelope in 23 years, but they would fall short, losing 28-14.

Antelope struck first in the opening quarter when Ethan Farnsworth found the end zone to give the Rams a 7-0 lead.

San Pasqual responded on its first offensive possession with a 30-yard run by Alex Acuna, who broke toward the outside and carried the Warriors into the red zone. However, the drive ended in a turnover, with Farnsworth recovering the fumble to make an impact on both sides of the ball.

The Rams extended their lead with a long Trane Figueroa completion to Sebastian Marquez, then turned to offensive and defensive lineman Alex Rodriguez, who powered into the end zone for the first touchdown of his career. Antelope converted the two-point attempt to build a 21-0 advantage.

San Pasqual managed to get on the scoreboard just before halftime, with Acuna finding the end zone. The Warriors missed the extra point, trimming the deficit to 15 points.

The late score gave San Pasqual some momentum, but it was not enough to overcome Antelope, which continued its dominance in the Telegraph Pass Cup rivalry with the 28-14 win.

Despite the loss, the matchup marked the closest the rivalry has been since San Pasqual's last victory over the Rams in 2003.
