Hawks Booster Club Birdie Bash returns for second year

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Gila Ridge Golf Booster Club is preparing for one of its biggest fundraising events of the year as the annual Birdie Bash returns to Yuma later this month.

The tournament is scheduled for Aug. 22 at Mesa del Sol Golf Course with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. and is expected to draw a large field following a strong turnout in 2025.

The event have has been expanded to accommodate 36 teams, giving more golfers the opportunity to participate.

Teams can enter the tournament for $400, while teams that choose to include a sponsorship can register for $500. The fee includes the round of golf, a cart, range balls, mulligans and lunch.

The Birdie Bash will be played in a four-player shamble format and will feature both gross and net payouts, allowing competitors of varying skill levels to compete for prizes.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Gila Ridge golf program, helping support student-athletes and team initiatives throughout the year.

With spots limited and interest expected to be high, organizers encourage teams to register early to secure a place in the field.
