Brawley Wildcats advance to CIF-SDS D-III softball championship game

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA) - The Brawley Wildcats softball team is heading to the CIF-San Diego Section Division III Championship game after defeating the Coronado Islanders 8-2 in playoff action.

With the win, the Wildcats will now face the Helix Scotties Thursday at 7 p.m. at San Diego State University with a CIF title on the line.

Both teams enter the championship matchup undefeated in the postseason, setting up a highly anticipated battle between two strong programs.

The Wildcats and Scotties have met four times in school history, with the all-time series tied at two wins each. Brawley won the most recent meeting in 2023 by a score of 9-2.

The Wildcats will look to continue their playoff run and bring home a CIF-SDS Championship on Thursday night.
