Kofa dominates Gila Ridge with late offensive explosion

The Kings defended the Kingdom with a great offensive showing

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Kofa Kings defeated the Gila Ridge Hawks 12-2, securing its second win over the Hawks in three days after an 8-0 victory earlier in the week.

Gila Ridge (2-10) struck first in the top of the second inning. Maui Hernandez hit a ground ball that slipped through the infield, allowing Noah Caza to score on a headfirst slide for a 1-0 lead.

Later in the inning, Connor Zimmerman added an RBI grounder to extend the Hawks' advantage to 2-0.

Kofa (7-7) responded in the bottom of the third. Ozzie Ortiz sparked the rally with a hit through the infield, one of his five hits on the day.

Two batters later, Ryan Rosas tied the game with a two-run home run, igniting an offensive surge for the Kings.

From there, Kofa’s lineup took control, piling up runs to pull away for the 10-run victory.

With the win, Kofa improved to 7-7 overall, while Gila Ridge fell to 2-10.
