Yuma Catholic girls capture region championship with win over ALA Foothills
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Catholic girls basketball team made it a clean sweep, defeating ALA Foothills 62–51 to claim the region championship.
The Shamrocks relied on a trio of scorers to separate themselves down the stretch, using consistent offense and defensive pressure to close out the title.
Sadie Estes led the way with 23 points, attacking the basket and knocking down key shots when Yuma Catholic needed them most. Amelia Borrallo followed with 18 points, while Kimora Coleman chipped in 12 points, giving the Shamrocks a steady scoring presence throughout the game.
ALA Foothills stayed within reach for much of the contest, but Yuma Catholic’s composure late proved to be the difference as they secured the region crown.
With the win, the Shamrocks add a region title to their season résumé and head into postseason play riding confidence and momentum.
