Local teams shine at Desert Holiday Classic boys basketball tournament
IMPERIAL COUNTY (KYMA, KECY) - Several local boys basketball teams picked up important wins Monday at the Desert Holiday Classic.
Central delivered a dominant performance on the road, defeating Cathedral City 72-37. The win improves Central’s record to 4-5 on the season as the team continues tournament play.
Brawley was tested in a close matchup but held on for a 47-43 win over Hillcrest Christian in a neutral-site game. The victory moves Brawley to 9-3 on the year and keeps them rolling through the holiday tournament schedule.
Calexico made a statement at home, cruising past La Quinta 67-23. The Bulldogs controlled the game from start to finish, showcasing their depth and defense in the lopsided win.
All three local programs continue play this week as the Desert Holiday Classic wraps up.
