Kofa announces 2026 Hall of Fame Class
A handful of Kings are etching their name into Kofa history
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Kofa Kings Athletic Hall of Fame Committee has compiled their selections for the 2026 class entering the Hall in Ernest Rillos Gym, but the process to achieve the accolade is easier said than done.
Billy Laguna, the president of the Kings Alumni Association and a Chairman of the Athletic Hall of Fame, explained the lengthy process for being inducted, from being nominated, to the voting process, to the specific point system Kofa uses to determine if you qualify.
This year, Carol Davie and the 1962 Kofa Cheer Leaders and Song Leaders, the 1989 state champion soccer team, Coach David Givens, Moses Camarena, Jerry Paulin, Scott Baker, Edgar Ramirez, Andrea Renteria and Alyssa Rhodes-Schlichter round out Kofa's 2026 Hall of Fame class.
The committee will host a meet-and-greet at Lutes Casino before introducing the Hall of Famers at a Kofa basketball game on Friday, January 23.
The next day, the Hall of Fame banquet will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the ceremony beginning 30 minutes later.
