Gila Ridge’s Joshua Zanovitch and Seth Ross sign to play in college
Zanovitch is set to run track and field at Corban University while Ross will play baseball at Ottawa University Arizona
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Two Gila Ridge standout athletes signed to compete at the collegiate level Friday afternoon.
Joshua Zanovitch signed his letter of intent to run track and field at Corban University in Salem, Oregon while Seth Ross is set to play a handful of positions on the baseball diamond at Ottawa University in Surprise, Arizona.
While Ross is staying close to what he calls home now, Zanovitch can't wait for the change of scenery that Salem has to offer.
"I visited in September and their campus is beautiful," Zanovitch said. "It's green everywhere and everyone there was so nice, all the faculty, all the students, and like being with the team like we prayed before practice and everything."
On the other hand, Ross can't wait to fulfill a childhood dream and take advantage of the opportunities OUAZ has to offer.
"Being able to play in college has been one of my dreams," Ross said. "Being able to take the next steps, and now that I'm able able to go here, it's just kind of unbelievable to me that I was able to make it this far."
Because Zanovitch is just a junior, he has two more years to compete at the high school level, while Ross will finish up this year after his senior year.
