Somerton defeats Yuma in straight sets

The Toros swept the Criminals, three sets to none, but long rallies made the score closer than it would suggest

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Somerton High School handled Yuma High, sweeping them 3-0 Monday night at Plaza De Toro Gym.

This was the second meeting between the two teams. Yuma dominated the first meeting, sweeping the Toros 2-0, but the complete opposite happened in this contest as Somerton got their vengeance.

The Toros won the sets by scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-20, claiming their second straight win, while the Criminals lose their third straight.

Somerton is 5-6 and will face Calipatria in Somerton on Wednesday. Yuma is 2-4 and will challenge Dysart at home on Wednesday.
