Gila Ridge girl’s basketball players signs letter of intent

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Gilda Ridge High School girl's basketball senior Ella Gettings signed a letter of intent Friday afternoon.

Gettings is a forward for the team and she has signed to play for the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

While attending the university, she will studying biology to become a veterinarian.

Gettings made sure to show appreciation for all the support she has received.

"It's absolutely amazing. My family is the biggest support that I have and for all of them to be here and then my teammates to come and my friends to come, it's a really good feeling," Gettings says.

She describes what it felt like to know she'd play at the next level.

"It felt like didn't believe it was just an amazing feeling and it just felt so…everything I worked for has been accomplished," Gettings said.

She wants to remind her now former Hawks team to give it all they have and to do their best, but to also enjoy it while it lasts.
