Brawley victorious on Law Enforcement Appreciation Night

Brawley and Central honor and recognize law enforcement officers and first responders ahead of baseball game.

BRAWLEY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Bubba Garcia had three hits and a home run to lead the Brawley Wildcats to a 10-8 victory over the Central Spartans on Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at Ed Weist Field.

Brawley moves to 6-9. Central falls to 7-7.

Before the game, local law enforcement officers and first responders were recognized for the service. The officers then threw out the first pitches to players from both teams.

In the first inning, Max Fimbres drove in Diego Acuna to put Central up 1-0. Brawley would immediately tie the game with Dante Lofton bringing home Garcia on a sac fly.

The Wildcats would score three in the first to claim their first lead. The Wildcats would lead 10-2 after four innings. Despite a late comeback attempt, Brawley held on to win it 108.

For Brawley, Garcia went 3 for 4 with the home run.

Tate Preece went 3 for 4 with a double and two triples.

For Central, Acuna went 3 for 4.

These squads will meet again on Friday at Central.
