Yuma is coming off a commanding 15-2 victory over Coronado, a team they will face again Wednesday. The Crims look to ride that momentum and keep their perfect season intact.
Over in 3A, Yuma Catholic's baseball team is also off to a strong start. The Shamrocks are 6-1 and ranked No. 2, as they set their sights on a return to the state championship game.
Meanwhile on the softball diamond, the Lady Rocks remain undefeated at 9-0, also holding the No. 2 spot in the 3A rankings.
In 6A baseball, several teams find themselves on the play-in bubble. San Luis leads the way at No. 19, followed by Kofa at No. 23 and Cibola at No. 26. Gila Ridge, sitting at No. 41, has some ground to make up.
In 1A, Antelope is ranked No. 13.
On the softball side, Cibola holds the highest local ranking in 6A at No. 22, just ahead of Gila Ridge (No. 25) and Kofa (No. 28). San Luis currently trails down at No. 38.
In 4A, Yuma is just outside the play-in picture at No. 27.
