Gila Ridge falls short against Skyline, extends losing streak
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Gila Ridge Hawks continue to struggle on the diamond, dropping their ninth consecutive game in a 9-5 loss to the Skyline Coyotes on Saturday.
Despite the defeat, senior Noah Caza provided a bright spot for Gila Ridge, delivering a strong performance at the plate.
Caza went 2-for-3, including a triple, two RBI, and a run scored, setting a new career high for hits in a game. James McMullen also contributed, going a perfect 1-for-1 with a run scored.
One positive takeaway for the Hawks was their ability to get on base. Gila Ridge posted an on-base percentage (OBP) of .514, their highest of the season.
With the loss, Gila Ridge now holds a 1-10 record, while Skyline improves to 10-6, snapping their own four-game losing streak.
The Hawks will travel to face Cesar Chavez on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
