Yuma Catholic baseball crushes Odyssey Institute

The Shamrocks bounce back from their first loss of the season with big win over Odyssey Institute.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Erik Topete had three hits and scored three runs to lead the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks to a 21-0 victory over the Odyssey Institute Minotaurs on Tuesday.

Yuma Catholic moves to 4-1. Odyssey Institute falls to 2-2.

In the first inning, the Shamrocks got hot right from the start scoring 10 runs. They then added on nine runs in the second and capped off the mercy rule victory with two in the third.

For YC, Hiram Silva tossed four scoreless innings and struck out 11 Minotaurs.

Topete went 3 for 4 and scored the three runs. Joey Carey went 3 for 4 and drove in four runs.

Yuma Catholic will travel to Tonopah Valley on Thursday to take on the Phoenix.
