Yuma Catholic baseball steamrolls Parker

Yuma Catholic's dominant streak to start the year continues with a big win over Parker.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Leonel Avelar pitched five scoreless innings to lead the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks to a 11-0 victory over the Parker Broncs on Tuesday.

Yuma Catholic moves to 3-0. Parker falls to 2-1.

Yuma Catholic took an early 1-0 lead with Avelar driving in Erik Topete with an RBI single. The Shamrocks then piled on three runs in the second and six in the third. They topped off the 11-0 victory with another one in the fourth.

On Wednesday, Yuma Catholic will travel to Valley Christian in a rematch of last year's 3A state championship game.
